China, in my opinion | MY FIRST TRIP TO CHINA

I visited China in December 2012.  This was my first trip to China.  It was a pleasant trip. I was impressed. I knew China only from Communist era propaganda films and newsreels during my years in high school and university in Communist Romania 1970-1983; visiting now, the second largest economy on Earth, only after USA (where I reside) and above mighty Japan, Germany and the rest, was impressive. Very! After a long and unpleasant D-flight, from Detroit to Beijing, getting to a nice hotel in Beijing was a nice change. In December the weather was cold; not a pleasant cold, but a bitter and wet cold, which gets inside your bones. The air pollution is everywhere.  When you are in USA or Europe, you see China in one way, the path and the images described by newspapers, by magazines, by media. Once you are in China, the vision is totally different. Totally! I do recommend every person, every executive, every politician to visit China, not only for business or political related decisions, but for information and culture. These are my impressions. I could be wrong, or misinformed. You have to take them with a grain of salt. I am trying to keep then short and Tweeter like.  This is a work in progress. I will add more impressions and observations.

INTRODUCTION NOTE | One day, at the very beginning of our existence on this planet, we were gatherers, hunters and migrating from place to place, from cave to cave. We multiplied, consuming resources. We were asleep. We were free and ignorant. On the second day, we have become settlers and permanent residents of on area. We consumed all resources around us, and the only chance we had for survival was agriculture. Due to agriculture, we started measuring time. Then, on the third day, we were awake, and aware of this issue, time, which started to mark our lives!

  INTRODUCCIÓN | Esto es un corto libro. A lo mejor vivirá algún tiempo en su memoria. Lo que describo son sentidos de la vida diaria, conversaciones, nada más. ¿Podemos entender la vida? A lo mejor, alguna de las líneas escritas tendrá algún sentido positivo y tranquilizador para el lector.  ¡Da pena perderlos! Nunca regresan igual, de la misma intensidad,  desde el mismo ángulo. El trabajo nos gasta la limitada cantidad de unidades de tiempo que tenemos en la vida: esta moneda tan cara y que nunca no podemos reponer. Nos quedan solo pocas unidades que podemos dedicar a la escritura. Trabajo intenso, frente a las pantallas de las computadoras, en las fabricas, en la calles, en los campos, en los hospitales. Sin el trabajo no tenemos recursos, y sin recursos no tenemos dinero comprar unidades de tiempo para escribir. Es un circulo vicioso muy difícil de romper; solo recibiendo energía exterior, del estilo de alguna “beca celestial”. ¡Qué envidia para el artista que tiene un taller y recursos y se dedica solo al proceso de creación de belleza, arte y cultura!  Dejar de leer un libro, es un crimen. Escribir un libro, es una bonificación.
