Cyber Wars, Cyber Terrorism and Info Wars are a flagella
and not a simple on-line game, office chat and rivalry.
The Cyber Terrorism is a very serious type of asymmetric
war, which unless the normal (nothing is normal about the war) ,
traditional war, affects us all. This is a very serious business and a
simple conclusion on human kind evolution and heavy (total) dependence
on computer systems.
All the enemies are dangerous: with little training and
some degree of dedication and talent, with a simple computer connected
to internet, can attack a powerful nation, with more devastating results
than a traditional frontal attack. Maybe you do not see not the damage,
but believe me, the damage is there.
Cyber attacks are in the thousands and happened daily
between nation at war and nations at peace. Is simply that they are not
reported, because of shame and difficulties in taking the blame.
Cyber Terrorism has to be open to debate and is more
spread around us and taking more complex form than a sneak on some other
nation’s computers.
Since 1999 I was one a few authors to mention this type
of asymmetric war and new war dimension, added to water, air and ground.

A PRECISION-DELIVERY WEAPON
BY
HEDI
ENGHELBERG
| GAIL
TENZER
Cyber terrorism
was one of the first white papers published on the topic.Cyber
terrorism, is a new weapon in the arsenal of global terrorists to be used
for waging asymmetrical warfare. It was also one of the first resources
available and used in works consulted and bibliographies in subsequent
papers written about this new method of committing acts of terrorism
through cyberspace (the internet) which we now know as cyber terrorism.
Based on over 13 public conferences held in both Venezuela and the U.S.
(Barnes and Noble), when first published in Venezuela, it was one out of
only a handful of books worldwide, alerting the public, corporations,
state institutions and agencies about this new trend and dimension of
war: the cyberspace (traditional air, ground, water). In principle
cyber terrorism is the
continuation of terrorism by a new means and ways: cyberspace, networks,
computers and Internet.
Today, the threats that Enghelberg was concerned about dating back to
1999 threaten to become part of our daily reality and Government,
Industry and Society at large must prepare to deal with it.
